Factors Affecting Embryo Transfer Success in Recipient
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Recipient age at transfer (less than 525 d old or more than 525 d old), season (fail, winter, spring, summer), method of synchronization (natural or induced), and transfer technique (surgical or nonsurgical transfer) were associated with success of embryo transfer in a log-linear analysis. In a separate analysis, no significant association was found between success of transfer and transfer to the left or right uterine horn. Summer had the lowest proportion of successful transfers (58.9%). Pregnancy rates were 83% using the surgical transfer method and 68% with transcervical transfers. Proportion of pregnancies following a second transfer was not different from the proportion after first transfers. Success of embryo transfer was highest if recipients were >525 d old and if transfers were performed surgically in spring following synchronization of recipients with cloprostenol, an analog of prostaglandin F 2 a. Probability of success was lowest for transfers to young, prostaglandin-synchronized recipients, performed nonsurgically in summer. Received October 28, 1985. LEON O. Bovine Embryo Transfer: Are Efficiencies Improving?
Embryo transfer (ET) in cattle has been commercially practiced in a number of countries for nearly four decades. Numerous technologies have been introduced and adopted by the industry during this period, including non-surgical embryo recovery and transfer, closely timed hormonal synchronization of donor and recipient estrous cycles, reliable cryopreservation of embryos and direct transfer follo...

Purpose: the aim of this study is to analyze the factors contributing to the success of frozen- thawed embryo transfer (ET). Material and method: This retrospective, case-control study was carried out on 700 infertile couples treated with IVF and ICSI and had embryo freezing in Isfahan Fertility and Infertility Center, Iran, from the beginning of July 2000 to the end of June 2003. Results: fa...
متن کاملDonor and recipient management to optimize embryo technology success
For an embryo transfer program to be effective, numerous factors need to be put in place to ensure success. Nutrition, estrous cycle control, donor and recipient management are all factors responsible for the success or failure in fertility for a given herd. Utilization of body condition score is a practical method to determine nutritional status of both recipients and donors. Prepartum nutriti...
متن کاملFactors influencing embryo transfer success in alpacas: a retrospective study.
Embryo transfer offers great advantages to South American camelid farmers to reach their breeding goals but the technology still plays a relatively minor role in comparison to other domestic farm animals like cattle. The aim of the present study was to analyse a data set of 5547 single or multiple ovulation embryo transfers performed in commercial alpaca farms in Australia to determine the fact...
متن کاملFactors affecting the efficiency of embryo transfer in the domestic ferret (Mustela putorius furo).
Embryo transfer (ET) to recipient females is a foundational strategy for a number of assisted reproductive technologies, including cloning by somatic cell nuclear transfer. In an attempt to develop efficient ET in domestic ferrets, factors affecting development of transferred embryo were investigated. Unilateral and bilateral transfer of zygotes or blastocysts in the oviduct or uterus was evalu...
